VERY IMPORTANT BOOK EARLY YOUR INCA TRAIL PERMITS FOR 2019
Although the rules of Expeditions to the Inca Trail, says that you must make the reservation of the Inca Trail 4 days before, the most advisable thing is to make the reservation with much anticipation, consider that the average in high season indicates that there is no more available spots 90 days before departure, this is because only 500 people can go per day, only this way it will be possible to conserve the erosion and contamination of the road network and the Machu Picchu Sanctuary. So it is necessary to book in advance.

The thousand-year-old city of Cusco, has been the site of great events in history, as well as being involved in a debate about the correct writing of its name, discover with us the interesting facts about Cusco:
For decades, the elites in Cusco tried to improve the Inca nature of the city, trying to eliminate the Spanish traces of the city; This caused the word "Cuzco" (with Z) to be banned in 1976. However, in 1993 the Quechua word "Qosqo" was introduced to refer to the City, and after a few years the word "Cusco" was returned. It is known that the Quechua word "Qosqo" comes from an indigenous word that means "navel of the world" or "center of the universe". The meaning of navel indicates Cusco as a ritual center, a sacred city where llamas and other offerings were sacrificed, in favor of the most important deities of the Empire.
Another thing you should know, is that the flag with the colors of the rainbow you will see in many institutions and residences of the city, is considered the flag of Cusco; however, in many other parts of the world, this same flag is related to the rights of the homosexual community; but remember, in Cusco, it is the beauty flag of Cusco and its colors represent the colors of the Empire Tahuantinsuyo.
Are you planning your next vacation in Cusco? Here we help you with some of the most important festivities that you can attend if you are in the city of Cusco:
The Cusquenian and in general the Peruvian, is a festive town for excellence that has turned the religious celebrations in true popular celebrations where the ceremonies and the cults are as important as: the dances, the meals, and the drinks. For example, there are typical foods that are prepared only for certain parties and the same thing happens with dances. Holy Week starts with the procession of jury pattern of Cusco Lord of tremors on the Holy Monday and finish with the 12 traditional dishes on Holy thursday. To these parties we must add two that are made in places a little away from Cusco, the Virgin of Carmen in Paucartambo (July) and Qoylloritti (June), near the town of Ocongate. Both equal in originality and beauty to the city parties.
Most people will start their trip to Machu Picchu - Peru, in Lima; known as the city of kings, it is the place where it will arrive if it is coming from the other side of the world; Once here, there are two ways to get to Cusco.
When to go to Cusco? It is one of the best questions before the trip. Although temperatures are around 18 degrees throughout the year, the best time to go to Cusco goes from April to September (dry season); the rains are less during this season, but it also coincides with the high season of tourism, so you will have a lot of company from people all over the world, and as you should know at higher demand, prices go up. But if you do not mind getting a little wet and want to get away from all that tumult; besides getting hotels, guides and other tours at low prices, it can come between November and April, it is the rainy season, but there are fewer people and greener landscapes.
Camp site allocations are subject to change depending on availability provided by the National Institute of Culture (government OFFICE IN CHARGE OF THE INCA TRAIL).
